We’ve seen it on TV – a brain destroying virus sweeps the globe leaving a valiant few left to carry on humankind. While zombies may remain fictional, the rapid spread of deadly diseases worldwide is very real. This session will investigate some of the most dangerous emerging diseases around the world and explore what systems we have in place to avoid a global disease calamity. We will discuss biological aspects of diseases to figure out why some spread quicker and consider how our social, political and economic environment determines if we get sick. When the day comes, be prepared to save the world!
